Business Resources … The Biz Wiki

May 26, 2006

If you haven’t seen The Biz Wiki from Alden Library of Ohio University, do take a look. The ALA TechSource blog includes an interview with Chad Boeninger, a Reference & Instruction Librarian there. I saw him speak at Computers In Libraries 2006 about the Biz Wiki, and this tool is inspiring. The Biz Wiki is “a collection of business information resources available through Ohio University Libraries,” but the concept can be applied at any library. In the ALA TechSource posting, Wikis in the University Library, Mr. Boeninger is asked “What has been the best thing about the wikis you’ve implemented? ” His response:

The ability to add content to the wiki is incredible. I never imagined that I would be updating and adding content as much as I have been. Whenever I find a new source, or discover how to use an old source in a different way, I can add that information to The Biz Wiki.
